Jason N. King
Jason N. King was raised in Gallatin, Tennessee. He graduated cum laude from Belmont University in 2003 with majors in religion and philosophy. Following college, he worked in banking and studied for a term in graduate school at Vanderbilt University. In 2006, he enrolled in law school at the University of Mississippi College of Law where he received his law degree in the fall of 2008. Mr. King has continuously engaged in the practice of law in Rutherford County since graduating from law school, and he joined the firm of Hudson, Reed & Christiansen, PLLC in January of 2024. He is licensed to practice in the state courts of Tennessee and the United States District Courts for the Middle and Eastern districts of Tennessee.
Mr. King advises businesses in commercial and corporate matters. He frequently acts as outside general counsel providing advice to businesses and non-profits as matters arise. He has handled mergers and acquisitions, equity transactions, and restructuring. He often represents lenders and developers in residential and commercial real estate development, foreclosures, and loan workouts. He has practiced extensively in the bankruptcy courts in the Middle and Eastern Districts of Tennessee, handling claims and litigation for lenders and other creditors. Mr. King has represented and advised owners, lenders, and construction firms in all project phases, from design to completion and has litigated contract disputes, construction defect claims, and mechanics and materialmen’s’ lien claims. In addition, Mr. King has handled numerous cases as insurance defense counsel on automobile, premises liability, and construction accident claims.
He is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association and the Rutherford and Cannon County Bar Association. Mr. King was selected by Mid-South Super Lawyers as a Rising Star for the years 2018 through 2021. He is a proud graduate of the Tennessee Bar Association’s Leadership Law (“TBALL”) program, class of 2023.
Mr. King has served on the board of directors of United Way for Rutherford and Cannon Counties, where he was chair of the Policy and Nominations Committee and served on the Executive Committee. He helped lead the United Way Young Leaders Society and is a past recipient of the Young Leader of the Year award.
Mr. King resides in Murfreesboro with his wife and two boys. They are active in their church, First United Methodist Church of Murfreesboro. Mr. King enjoys studying American history and constitutional law, spending time with friends and family, and supporting the Tennessee Volunteers.
